Genii (Scenes from a Ballet)

Genii (Scenes from a Ballet). Commissioned and performed in 2018 by Robin Walker. This work was inspired initially by a Paul Klee painting from 1922 and then organized around the structure of a tale from the Thousand and One Arabian Nights

This circa 10” organ work was premiered at Thaxted UK on the 1821 Henry Cephas Lincoln organ. The instrument is well known for its F compass and curious tuning temperament.  Gustav Holst who played it during his occasional tenures as O/C in the 1910s.
